Position Summary

The Munroe-Meyer Institute (MMI) for Genetics and Rehabilitation at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha is currently accepting applications for a multilingual faculty position in the Department of Psychology (Rank DOQ). Minimum requirements are a doctoral degree in Clinical or School Psychology. Applicant must have Nebraska licensure (or license eligible) while board certification (particularly BCBA) is also valued. Candidates with a clinical internship from APA/CPA-accredited programs in psychology are preferred.

Clinical activities center on delivery of behavioral health assessment, diagnostic and treatment services for neurotypical individuals (especially children, adolescents and families) as well as individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across the lifespan. Referrals come from schools, physicians, and community agencies throughout the region. Faculty may choose to focus their clinical services, training and research in 1) outpatient BH clinics at MMI, 2) integrated primary care sites across the Omaha metro area, or 3) school-based mental health clinics in the surrounding community. All of the above duties require applicants to be multilingual.

See UNMC-MMI Psychology website for more information about the program.

About MMI Psychology:

The department of Psychology at the MMI is a collegial group of clinical educators and researchers dedicated to integrating training and research within clinical service delivery in a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary setting. Department faculty play a vital role in education and training, providing clinical supervision through a large, well-funded internship program within the APA-accredited Nebraska Internship Consortium, as well as a growing postdoctoral fellowship program. While the department is grounded in a behavioral orientation, it welcomes applicants with diverse but complementary theoretical perspectives. Several faculty also teach in the Applied Behavior Analysis master's degree program, which prepares graduates for licensure as mental health practitioners and certification as Board Certified Behavior Analysts. Faculty are encouraged to pursue clinical research that aligns with the department's mission, with flexibility in specific areas of focus.

About MMI:

MMI is one of the oldest, largest, and most comprehensive intellectual and developmental disability centers in the world. MMI's mission is "to be world leaders in transforming the lives of all individuals with disabilities and complex health care needs, their families and the community through outreach, engagement, premier educational programs, innovative research and extraordinary patient care". MMI utilizes an interdisciplinary team approach that assures a comprehensive integration of our four pillars: research, clinical services, education, and community engagement. MMI is one of eight academic units of UNMC. MMI has an annual budget of more than $40M, approximately 500 employees, and our 17 disciplines provide over 90,000 clinical services each year serving individuals with disabilities and complex medical needs across the lifespan. MMI is a federally designated University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) and has a Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) program.
