Part Time Direct Support Professional (DSP)Support Services/ BaltimoreRate of Pay $22/hr*FLSA Status: Non-exemptWe are seeking a Part Time Personal Supports (DSP) to provide hands-on care to individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities providing assistance with personal hygiene, activities/ outings, social engagement, shopping, planning, cooking, and cleaning.Support a young woman in the Monkton area with participating in activities in her community and developing independence. Assist with identifying and participating in new activities of interest, money skills, exercise and healthy choices. Loves dancing, music, beauty/makeup, clothes, and shopping. Staff should be patient, respectful, trustworthy, and able to encourage and participate in living a fun and fulfilling life.This position is:15 hours/ weekMonday – Friday 3:30p-6:30pPart-timeThe schedule is subject to flexibility due to the needs of the individuals supported.DSPs assist with creating opportunities for individuals to live full and productive lives by:Assisting with participation and exploration of the communityCultivating and expanding independent living skillsAssisting with the development of meaningful and personal relationshipsImplementing strategies to achieve individuals' personal goals.Benefits include:401 (K) Retirement PlanSick and Vacation timeShort and Long-term disability plansPaid HolidaysPaid trainings, including CPR/First Aid and opportunities to obtain Med Tech CertificationTuition ReimbursementEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Works in both indoor and outdoor settings.Ability to work with individuals with a variety of disabilities, including the potential to be exposed to aggressive, unpredictable behavior.Ability to sit, stand, reach, walk, run, push, carry, manipulate objects or controls, kneel, stoop, or crawl for prolonged periods of time.Ability to assist and transfer an adult in/out of a wheelchair; at times may need to assist with personal care needs when necessary.The position may require the occasional lifting of objects weighing up to 50 pounds or more at a time.Qualifications:High school diploma or G.E.D preferredMust have at least 2 years of driving experienceMust be at least 20 years of age.Current driver's license (not provisional) with less than 3 points on driving recordMust be able to transport people supported as neededSome lifting and transferring may be requiredRegular Base Rate is $22/hr. There is an additional $1/hr. shift differential for weekend shifts. ($22 +$1=$23/hr.)
