nAbout the Role

nWe are seeking a Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant (PA‑C) with acute care experience in Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, or Internal Medicine to join our growing team.

nAs a field‑based Advanced Practice Provider, you will independently deliver comprehensive care in patients’ homes—conducting assessments, diagnosing conditions, managing treatment plans, and coordinating follow‑up care. You will be fully equipped to treat everything from common illnesses to complex injuries, while providing compassionate, whole‑person care across all age groups. The ideal candidate uses strong critical‑thinking skills, follows evidence‑based standards of practice, proactively identifies and solves problems, adheres to all clinical and safety standards, protocols, and performance metrics, and consistently provides care with compassion, empathy, and cultural competency.

nnnFlexible 10‑hour shifts (market‑based)

nn2 shifts per week, including 1 weekend day per month (Saturday/Sunday), providing a balance between weekday and weekend scheduling.

nn1:1 patient ratio; see 4-7 patients per shift

n nWhat You’ll Do

nnnPerform comprehensive health assessments and diagnose mild to complex illnesses

n

nnProvide therapeutic interventions including splinting, suturing, wound care, minor procedures, IV fluids, and medication administration

n

nnOrder, perform, and interpret point‑of‑care laboratory studies

n

nnAnalyze diagnostic data to guide treatment plans and ensure continuity of care

n

nnEducate patients and families on condition management and recovery

n

nnNavigate difficult conversations related to goals of care and end‑of‑life decisions

n

nnCommunicate effectively with patients, families, medical power of attorney, primary care providers, and care partners

n

nnAccurately and thoroughly document all patient encounters

n

nnAdhere to evidence‑based clinical standards, safety protocols, and performance metrics

n

nnAttend required training sessions and clinical team meetings

n

nnDrive a DispatchHealth‑branded vehicle to patient homes and deliver care independently

n

nnPerform additional duties as assigned

n

n nWhat You’ll Need

nnnCurrent, unrestricted NP or PA license in the state of practice

n

nnNational board certification (current)

n

nnMinimum 2 years of APP experience in Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, Internal Medicine, Hospital Medicine, Family Practice, Cardiac, Pulmonary, or related settings

n

nnBLS and ACLS certification

n

nnPrescriptive authority and active DEA (as required by state)

n

nnValid driver’s license with clean driving record. Continued employment is contingent upon maintaining an acceptable driving record in accordance with company policy and insurer requirements.

n

nnFlexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

n

nnRequired availability for at least four (4) weekend days per 28‑day scheduling cycle

n

nnRequirement to work three (3) holidays annually

n

nnGraduate degree from an accredited advanced practice program (preferred)

n

nnMay be required: TB, MMR, Varicella, Hep-B and Influenza

n

n nEssential Functions

nMust be able to perform the essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation

nWhile performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and to talk and hear. Employee may be occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Employee must occasionally lift, push and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 

nnnAbility to drive and sit in a car for long periods of time

nnAbility to drive during the day and at night

nnAbility to climb three flights of stairs while carrying equipment

nnAbility to push, pull, and lift 50 pounds

nnAbility to provide patient care in non-traditional or smaller spaces with limited room for movement

n nPay Range: $57 - $67 an hour

nEmployment Information

nThis position is field‑based and requires travel within the metro area, with potential travel to other licensed states as needed.

nDue to the essential functions of this role and the high-risk environment in which work is performed, annual influenza vaccination is a condition of employment. Requests for exemption will be reviewed consistent with applicable law, but due to the nature of this position, accommodations may not be available.
