Job Responsibilities

Conduct patient assessments in both inpatient and outpatient settings and create personalized treatment plans

Implement physical therapy techniques aimed at enhancing mobility, strength, and overall functionality

Work collaboratively with a team of healthcare providers including nurses, physicians, case managers, and other rehabilitation experts to achieve the best patient outcomes

Provide education to patients and their families on therapeutic objectives, discharge strategies, and prescribed home exercises

Maintain accurate documentation of evaluations, treatments, and patient progress in alignment with facility protocols and regulations

Engage in interdisciplinary team rounds and conferences to ensure cohesive care

Education Requirements

Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution

Certifications

State certification as a Physical Therapist

CPR certification is preferred

Specialty certifications (e.g., for neurological and geriatric care) are beneficial, though not mandatory

Skills

Preferred prior experience in a clinical setting

Ability to manage patients with intricate medical conditions and mobility challenges

Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities

Familiarity with electronic health records and clinical documentation practices
