Job description
Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)Provide skilled physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT). Implement treatment plans to improve residents' mobility, strength, balance, and functional ability in a skilled nursing facility setting. Deliver direct therapy interventions (exercises, gait training, balance activities) to residents. Observe and report resident progress and changes in condition to the supervising PT. Assist with resident assessments and contribute to care planning and documentation. Educate residents and caregivers on exercises and safety techniques for use outside therapy sessions. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system. Ensure proper use and maintenance of therapy equipment and assistive devices. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated resident care. Adhere to all professional, state, federal, and facility regulations and standards. Maintain ethical standards, licensure, and continuing education requirements. Work in a skilled nursing facility/long-term care environment, requiring standing, lifting, and assisting residents. Function effectively as part of a collaborative, fast-paced team.
