Public Safety Officer I
Department: Public Safety
Schedule: Full-Time | Rotating Shifts (Days/Evenings/Nights)
Position Summary
The Public Safety Officer I is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, staff, and property. This role provides exceptional customer service while enforcing organizational policies and responding to safety and security incidents.
Key Responsibilities
Patrol assigned areas to ensure safety and security of facilities and grounds
Respond promptly to emergency and non-emergency incidents
Monitor surveillance systems and access control points
De-escalate situations using sound judgment and professionalism
Prepare detailed incident and activity reports
Assist patients, visitors, and staff with directions and general inquiries
Enforce organizational policies and procedures
Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency responders as needed
Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required
Valid driver's license with good driving record required
Minimum of one (1) year of security, public safety, military, or related experience required
Ability to pass background check and drug screening
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications Healthcare security experience
CPR/AED certification
Crisis Prevention or de-escalation training

Salary Range: Minimum 17.78/hour - Maximum 28.50/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
