While beauty is our heart, our people are our soul.We are seeking an experienced Public Safety Supervisor to help ensure the safety and security of our property, staff, and guests. This position plays a key leadership role on our Public Safety & Security team and is actively involved in daily operations and emergency response. Responsibilities include:Supporting the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new Public Safety & Security team membersTraining, coaching, and mentoring part-time staff to support their professional developmentAssisting with the administration of annual performance evaluationsCreating and managing daily work schedules; addressing operational questions and challengesContributing to the development and oversight of the fiscal year budgetParticipating in day-to-day operations including:Emergency and alarm system responseWeather monitoring and safety proceduresTraffic controlFirst aid responseRegular safety patrolsSecurity operations for private eventsSupporting the organization's emergency preparedness effortsResponding to and providing supervision during incidents involving staff, guests, or propertyThe ideal candidate will possess:A minimum of 3 years of experience in a safety and security role; prior supervisory or management experience is a plusCertification in First Aid, CPR, AED, and Incident Command System (preferred)Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skillsExperience with incident investigation and report writingProficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with security software is a plusThe ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extended periods of standing, walking, driving, or sittingThe ability to lift at least 50 poundsAvailability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysA valid driver's license requiredLongwood Gardens is committed to nurturing a diverse and inclusive environment that celebrates the complexities and differences of all living things.
