Location: Roanoke, Virginia (VA)
Healthcare Setting: Level I Trauma Facility; critical care and pulmonology unit
Schedule: Night shifts, 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.
Shift Duration: 12 hours
Hours: Approximately 36 hours per week
Contract Duration: 13-week locum tenens opportunity with potential to extend
Start Date: April 15, 2027
Estimated Weekly Pay: $3,980-$4,270

Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Job Requirements Board-certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
At least 2 years of recent pulmonary and critical care experience
Active Virginia Nurse Practitioner license; candidates eligible for Virginia licensure may be considered, with licensed candidates preferred
Active Virginia DEA registration
Current clinical competency with critical care procedures and overnight patient management
Pulmonary Critical Care Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities Provide overnight pulmonary and critical care coverage for critically ill adult patients
Evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
Perform and manage central venous catheter placement, arterial line placement, thoracentesis, chest tube placement, and pigtail catheter insertion
Perform bedside ultrasound examinations and flexible bronchoscopy as clinically indicated
Manage indwelling pleural catheters and support patients requiring advanced pulmonary interventions
Perform endotracheal intubation and respond to acute changes in patient condition
Document assessments, procedures, and treatment plans accurately in Epic
