Punch/Laser OperatorHot JobDenton, TX - Denton, TX 76207OverviewJob Shift Day Travel Percentage NoneDescription1st shift 7am-3:30pm Monday-Friday We are seeking a skilled Operator to join our team. As an Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of machinery and equipment (punch/laser machines) with little to no supervision. This is a hands-on role that requires strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to work with precision instruments.Responsibilities:Operate and monitor machinery and equipment in accordance with operating proceduresSet up NC punch machine per customer specifications (dimensions, tolerances and spacing)Install the appropriate punches and adjust height appropriatelyConfigure proper settings on control consolePlace tools in specified stationsLocate dies, punches and clamps. Verify locations with calipersRun test pattern, using a blank, to verify accurate set upObserve operation and make adjustments when part is out of specificationPerform a 100% inspection of the first part produced.Inspect parts and ensure they are being produced to blueprint (dimensions, hole locations and size and tolerances)Maintain production count and monitor SPC control chartsSeparate, debur and stack parts according to specific instructionsMaintain machine and tools to good operating conditionsMust be able to sharpened tools on tool sharpener when necessary to ensure better wear, longer tool life and accurate punching.Must be able to calibrate laser on Acies and Trumpf LaserClean out dust collector on Acies safely and correctlyMust be able to take tooling out of and replace in Acies Automatic tool changerMust be able to build tools and load tools for the Trumpf punch.May require training of new operators in NC Punch OperationsHad the Authority and Responsability to report non-conforming product - Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environmentQualificationsStrong mechanical knowledge and aptitudeProficiency in using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gaugesExperience with programming and operating CNC machinesKnowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniquesExperience with lathe operations is a plusGood communication skillsA high school diploma or equivalent preferred along with; 1 year experience as a NC Punch Operator IIIIf you are a detail-oriented individual with a passion for precision manufacturing, we encourage you to apply.
