Job description
Punch OperatorWe are seeking a responsible Punch Operator to join our Manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate a computer-controlled punch machine to produce blanks for additional manufacturing operations or as finished flat parts. This position requires attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Operate punch machinery according to production paperwork and specified requirementsCheck parts using calipers, micrometers, and height gages for accuracyLoad appropriate programs into machine controls and run correct parts/quantitiesMeasure parts effectively to ensure conformity to print specificationsEvaluate supplied materials to ensure they meet production needsRemove and inspect cut pieces for defects, ensuring edge and surface qualityComplete production paperwork, including quality and timekeeping records, In-Process, and Final Audit ReportsMaintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace in compliance with 6S Standards and facility policiesWear required safety equipment and adhere to all Safety PoliciesProperly fill out tags for part identification and traceabilityPerform basic setups using prewritten programsRead and interpret blueprints to identify important characteristicsReceive on-the-job training from the cell supervisorUnderstand the Company Quality Policy and Objectives, and their personal impact on achieving these goalsSupport the Cell Leader in implementing Continuous Improvement initiativesIdentify and tag suspect products with HOLD tags as part of Nonconforming Material ControlLift up to 50 lbs as neededSafety Requirements:Safety glasses and shoes are required in all manufacturing areasHearing protection must be worn in posted areas and is optional elsewhereQualifications:Experience in manufacturing or machine operation preferredAbility to read blueprints and use precision measuring toolsCommitment to workplace safety and quality standardsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsWillingness to participate in ongoing training and improvement initiativesMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs
