Job description

Punch OperatorWe are currently seeking a Punch Operator to join our manufacturing team. The Punch Operator should have a steady work history that shows commitment, quality, and reliability to their work. You will report promptly to your team leader for your daily duties and will work with your team to ensure that the production goals are reached.ResponsibilitiesSet-up, operate, and adjust machines and equipment as needed to produce quality parts.Use of calipers, micrometers, and tape measures to ensure quality standardsFollow drawings or work orders as provided by a team leader.Read/interpret blueprints and make minor adjustments as necessaryMust be able to maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and comply with all safety rules and procedures.Must work efficiently while keeping safety, quality and production standards in mind at all times.To promote a team-oriented atmosphere at all times.Any other task asked by the leadership team.High school diploma or GEDPrevious experience operating Punch OperatorAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and measuring instruments.Strong attention to detail and quality assurance.Ability to lift, move, and position materials up to 50 lbs.Comfortable working independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Willingness to follow safety protocols and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.This position may require standing for extended periods, repetitive motion, and lifting up to 50 lbs.Work is performed in a production environment where safety gear (gloves, eye protection, steel-toed footwear, etc.) is required.Flexibility to work overtime, shifts, or weekends as needed to support production demands.Physical & Environmental Demands Physical RequirementsThe employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds continuously throughout the workday.Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.Frequently bend, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, push and pull.Perform grasping, handling, and repetitive hand and arm movements.Maintain manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate tools, equipment, machinery controls, and computer devices as required.Safely operate hand tools, light power tools, and rotating equipment as required by the position.Wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the position.Ability to climb and descend ladders, stairs, platforms, and work areas safely as required by the positionWork EnvironmentThe employee will work in a manufacturing environment and may be exposed to:The need to work safely around manufacturing processes and equipment while following all applicable safety policies and procedureVarying temperatures, including temperatures occasionally above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees.Moderate to high levels of noise in designated production areas.Outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, rain, and other environmental elements, as business needs require.Welding operations, including exposure to welding arcs, sparks, heat, and airborne particulates in designated production areas.Time Travel RequiredNoneThe successful candidate will embrace Vertiv's Core Principals & Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities.Our Core Principals: Safety.
