Punch Press Setup Operator 1st Shift (4-Day Work Week!)Location: Schiller Park, ILShift: 1st Shift | 6:00 AM 4:30 PM | Monday Thursday (Enjoy a 3-Day Weekend! If you are looking for a supportive environment where you can expand your heavy-gauge technical skills, get weekends off, and work with a premium fleet of machinery, this is your next home.Key Responsibilities:Complete Machine Setup & Die Setting: Independently set up, adjust, and tear down dies on assigned punch press machinery according to documented blueprints and work instructions.Production & Troubleshooting: Safely load heavy metal coils into feeders, run production samples, and proactively troubleshoot alignment or tolerance issues to ensure perfect parts.Precision Quality Control: Measure and verify finished components using precision inspection tools, including micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Meticulously inspect for visual or dimensional defects.Equipment Maintenance & Safety: Inspect dies for wear, overloads, or improper maintenance, reporting issues to the foreman. Maintain a pristine, organized workspace around your press.Material Handling: Safely operate a forklift to transport heavy metal coils, tooling, dies, and finished products throughout the facility.Position Requirements (What You Bring):Experience: At least 2+ years of hands-on punch press setup and operation experience within a high-volume production, metal stamping, or fabrication environment.Die Setup Expertise: Proven ability to independently handle physical machine setups, including die setting, feeding adjustment, and tonnage adjustments.Precision Tool Literacy: Highly proficient in reading detailed work instructions and utilizing precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, depth gauges).Heavy Tonnage Comfort: Comfortable working around large-scale industrial presses in the 100-ton to 600-ton capacity range.Logistics: Ability or willingness to operate a forklift. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
