Job description
Brake Press OperatorThe brake press operator is responsible for handling all machine press operations for the organization and may be required to operate other machines in the fabrication department.Essential FunctionsSet-up and operation of brake press and/or other machines to support the operation.Movement and positioning of workpieces into machine either manually or with the hoist.Selects feed rate, cutting speed, depth of cut, and tooling to be used.Verification that finished work is in conformance, and may machine plastics or non-metal products on occasion.Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee.Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures.Performs inspection of machined products, and documents results, and completes and maintains paperwork for parts.Assists in other work areas to perform fabrication, lay-up, infiltration, and may be required to perform other duties as assigned.Material handling, forklift operations, hand trucks, and some lifting, pulling and pushing.CompetenciesTechnical CapacityInitiative & Safety ConsciousMathematical SkillsTime ManagementTeamworkRequired Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent.Preferred Education and ExperienceTwo (2) years of factory/manufacturing experience with similar equipment.BenefitsBenefits for full-time employees include Paid Time Off, medical, dental, vision, life & disability insurance, 401k matching, Employee Referral Program, and Employee Assistance ProgramPosition Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position.
