Build your career with the industry-leading fire, life safety and security company.This position is responsible for maintaining relationships with suppliers, vendors or wholesalers, places orders for products based on current inventory needs and tracks shipments. The position requires good client service skills to collaborate with different departments, support managers and work with vendors.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Working with the purchasing manager to run the purchasing departmentPerforming vendor research and selection to enhance profitability, reducing operating costs and boosting efficiencyMaintaining cordial working relationships with vendors and supervising vendor activitiesSigning and reviewing purchasing agreements with vendors, monitoring their performance and renegotiating contractsUsing quarterly and annual data to determine purchasing needs and performing inventory managementManaging purchase orders, overseeing shipping schedules and maintaining purchase recordsWorking with warehouse staff to compare deliveries with purchase orders to identify discrepanciesConducting ongoing market research to identify beneficial purchase agreements and potential vendorsPerform other duties assigned by management.Education/Qualification:High school diploma or equivalent (Associate Degree or B.Sc. in Logistics, Purchase and Supply, Business Administration or related fields is preferred)At least two years of experience in a purchasing positionIn-depth knowledge of purchasing functions, inventory, and supply management systemsExcellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skillsAbility to work with minimal supervisionStrong organizational skills, a good understanding of sourcing and the ability to maintain vendor relationshipsDirect experience with spreadsheet computer applicationsAbility to use purchasing softwareOther Duties:Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.Performs other duties as assigned.Physical Requirements:Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Pay Range:60-75k.
