Purchasing AssistantLocation: Chatsworth California 91311 Duration: 12 months Shift: 6:00am to 2:30pmThis position will involve purchasing of materials and services necessary to support the company. This individual needs to be familiar with administrative practices.Tasks involve working with documents, spreadsheets, reports, the incumbent will compose correspondence items.Responsibilities:Follow established work processes and workflowsProvide courteous and effective communicationMeet work deadlinesWork with the purchasing manager & Senior Buyers to run the purchasing departmentMaintaining cordial working relationships with vendors and supervise vendor activitiesManage purchase orders scheduled delivery dates, Acknowledgements, Change NoticesMaintain all purchase recordsSupport supplier receipts & resolve and documentation issuesQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent (Associate Degree or B.Sc. in Logistics, Purchase and Supply, Business Administration or related fields are typically preferred)At least two years of experience in a purchasing positionIn-depth knowledge of purchasing functions, inventory and supply management systemsExcellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skillsAbility to work with minimal supervisionStrong organizational skills, a good understanding of sourcing and the ability to maintain vendor relationshipsDirect experience with spreadsheet computer applications
