Purchasing Assistant IISan Antonio, Texas, United States$ 19.00 - 20.00 (US Dollar)Purchasing Assistant II needs 1 year of previous training or on-the-job experiencePurchasing Assistant II requires:1 year of previous training or on-the-job experience are generally preferredGood communication skillsOrganizational skillsHours: Monday Friday, 8a-5pGreat attitudeBasic financial acumenPurchasing Assistant II duties:Process approved requisitions, prepare purchase orders and send copies to vendors and to originating departmentsCheck inventory stocks physically or through automated systems to validate that restocking is in ordersDetermine inventory quantities are sufficient for needs and order more if warrantedRespond to vendor inquiries about clarifying orders, changes in requests, delivery requirements and cancellationsContact vendors to ensure meeting delivery schedules and preclude missed deliveriesResolve problems with vendors to expedite deliveries and to preclude supply shortagesReview requisition orders to ensure accuracy and correct line item specificationsPrepare, maintain, and review purchasing files, reports and price listsConduct regular review of vendor accreditation to ensure getting the most economical and cost effective supplies by comparing contractual and bid prices with prevailing competitive pricesMonitor status of requisitions, contracts, and orders
