Job description
QA Inspector IIIEstablished manufacturing company looking for an experienced QA Inspector III to perform quality inspections on machined fasteners and components. This position is responsible for first article, in-process, and final inspections before products are released for shipment. The ideal candidate has strong experience reading blueprints and GD&T, using precision measuring equipment, and maintaining accurate quality documentation.Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections on machined parts and fastenersInspect finished products and determine acceptance or rejection based on specificationsRead and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T calloutsVerify part dimensions using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and dial indicatorsUse go/no-go gauges, pin gauges, and optical comparators for inspectionVerify stamp markings and product identificationPerform hardness, tensile, and Charpy mechanical testing with training provided as neededPerform Positive Material Identification (PMI) testingPerform coating thickness testingDocument inspection results accurately and maintain quality recordsIdentify and report nonconforming products or quality concernsFollow established quality and safety proceduresPrevious quality inspection experience in a machining or manufacturing environment requiredStrong experience with calipers, height gauges, and precision measuring equipmentExperience using OD, blade, and pitch micrometersExperience with dial indicators, go/no-go gauges, and pin gaugesExperience using an optical comparatorKnowledge of GD&T concepts including positional, circular runout, and total runoutAbility to interpret drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.5Strong attention to detail and ability to make accurate accept/reject decisionsAbility to maintain clear and accurate inspection documentationSteel-toe shoes requiredNo felonies in the last 3 years, no violent felonies everMust be able to pass a pre-employment drug screeningPay: $25.00 per hourSchedule: Monday – Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PMLocation: Houston, TX 77035
