Bay Ltd. QC-QA TechThe Level 1A QC-QA Tech position will primarily be responsible for hot mix quality control. The position includes roadway testing duties to ensure HMA being produced and placed meets or exceeds specification. Other duties include, but are not limited to; aggregate gradations, hot mix formulations, tracking test results, generating reports, and communicating results with the quality control team and supervisor.Essential Functions:Use accepted methods to inspect, sample and test hot mix or other materials for the purpose of quality controlProvide support to QC Supervisor with inspections and setting up testing equipmentExamine contract drawings and specificationsPromotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices, and rectifies job site hazards immediatelyComplete daily work logs as well as maintain a production record to identify the performance of the field results and the specifications of the mix producedSample and test mixtures for compliance with contract specifications and quality control toleranceMonitor and test process functions and materials daily to ensure hot mix meet or exceed requirements of the appropriate agency or customerPrepare and record accurate informationFollow quality control plans or guidelines as assignedMaintain clean, organized job sites and equipmentLift, carry and hold materials, tools, and suppliesEnsure compliance of all safety procedures and policies while promoting company's safety culturePerform other duties as requested, directed, or assignedEducation and Experience Requirements:High School Diploma or GED or Equivalent Work Experience2-5 years' experience with hot mix operations, dirt, and baseCertification Level 1A to test hot mix from TXAPA is requiredSkills / Key Competencies:Knowledge and experience in heavy construction industry and Heavy Civil Highway IndustryProficient knowledge in construction industry standardsProficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, & Outlook)Ability to read asphalt paving plans, drawings, and sketchesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExercise discretion and independent judgement when handling day to day informationExcellent time-management skills to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities to meet deadlines and adjust to changing prioritiesAbility to work cooperatively across all levels delivering on commitments – results orientedAbility to complete work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detailPhysical Requirements:Ability to work outdoors, exposed to heat and humidity, cold and rain, and around heavy traffic areasMoving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to anotherAbility to operate job related toolsConstantly perform repeating motions that may include feet, leg, wrists, hands and/or fingersWork that includes moving and/or lifting objects up to 50 pounds, carry at least 30 pounds and up to 150 pounds with helpAbility to frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditionsBay Ltd. is an Equal Opportunity Employer
