Eugene offers abundant access to parks, trails, and natural beauty, along with a vibrant arts and food scene, creating an engaging and lifestyle-oriented community for employees and their families.ResponsibilitiesOur QA Tech is responsible for ensuring food safety and food quality by working in partnership with the shift supervisor. Perform changeover inspections, pre-operational inspections, auditing in process QC checks, and training shift personnel on food quality and food safety practices and procedures. Will investigate product holds and determine immediate disposition, where appropriate. Other tasks include investigating customer complaints, conducting facility inspections, completing finished product reviews, and auditing production and sanitation processes. This role is also accountable for monitoring and inspecting production outputs to ensure manufactured goods adhere to quality, food safety, and customer specifications.Duties and Responsibilities:Audit production QC (Quality Control) inspections and dataVerify and sign off on production testing recordsPerform sensory evaluations for in process materialsConduct finished product reviewsSupport production in maintaining quality product at standard efficiencyTrain shift staff on food quality and food safety proceduresParticipate in equipment cleanliness inspections at product changeover, including ATP testingConduct pre-operational inspections prior to weekly start-upIdentify, tag and segregate nonconforming ItemsAdvise on immediate quality hold dispositionsAudit production and sanitation procedures for compliance with documented proceduresPerform scheduled GMP Inspections and Glass & Brittle Plastic InspectionsComplete complaint investigations, facility and product inspections, and document revisions, as assigned.Other duties as assignedQualificationsEducation & Experience Required:High school diploma; college training in math or science preferredOne (1) plus years in a laboratory or related inspection workExperience in a production/manufacturing environmentPreferred Education, Experience, and Skills:Eugene products and production processesCFR Title 21 Part 110 (current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in manufacturing, packaging, and holding of Human Food))Food Safety principles as these apply in production, for example. HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point), cGMP, Allergen ControlObserving physical surrounding with a keen eye towards variance from the ordinaryCapability in performing simple mathematical calculationsDetail oriented in work performance and documentationOrganization and time managementDiplomacy when interacting with all staffWorking in a fast paced environmentPhysical Requirements: Qualified candidates must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation:Stand, walk, ascend/descend stairs on a frequent basisMust be able to move or transport up to 20 pounds on an infrequent basis.
