Job description

Quality Assurance TechnicianWe are the WOW flavor behind some of your favorite meal experiences. We are the partner to some of the most well-known names in food, food service and retail. You will find our products on fast-casual menus, frozen meals, retail deli, meal kits and RTE bagged salads.We co-create and supply our partners with hot-cooked products including sauces, cheese sauces, soups, chilis and marinades. Our cold-processed products include dressings, sauces, spreads, and batters.We are a fast-growing food organization with 3 production facilities in Southern California.Safety and quality are at the forefront of our culture.Quality Assurance Technicians are responsible for carrying out SOP'S related to Food Safety and Quality. This includes document control, scanning documents, filing, data entry, lab work, and production floor presence.Job Functions:Pre-Op and operational sanitation plant inspection.Perform ATP and environmental swabs.Perform chemical and physical analysis of products in-process and finished items as needed: PH, AW, TA, BX, Consistency, Viscosity, Color, Organoleptic, and as necessary.Check plant equipment calibration: thermometer, scales.Manage laboratory equipment, materials, procedures, and implement operational safety guidelines.Calibrate laboratory equipment.Plant verification temperatures: coolers, freezer, processing room, and Warehouse.Ensure conformance to specifications: daily formula and specifications performance review, and daily processing and packaging process review.Perform daily HACCP Verifications and records review.Raw material, work in process and finished products inventory rotation verification.Daily metal detector verification.Label verification and approval.Daily review and reconciliation of all QA/QC records, including HACCP, Net Weight, etcPrepare and distribute HOLD reports.Compile information and create reports.Data entry, QC Checks, Holds and Release.Interface with the USDA inspectors: Report immediately any discrepancies. Recommend corrective actions. Recommend preventative measures.Daily employee hygienic practices audit.Recommend and enforce corrective and preventative measures to improve plant sanitation, employee hygienic practices and product safety standards.Assist the QA Manager in continuous improvement efforts and follow up on corrective actions implementation.Ensure that all department personnel are using proper procedures, work instructions, forms, tools, and equipment established for the jobs they perform.Keep QA Manager informed about problems and opportunities for improvement.Create and maintain accurate inspections files and prepare reports summarizing inspection results.Employee training. To promote and ensure the hygienic handling of products and other sanitary requirement including HACCP, SSOP's, and GMP's to ensure cleanliness in the preparation and handling of edible product.Daily employee hygienic practices auditOther duties as assigned.Required Skills:Team player, great communication skillsDemonstrated leadership skillsERP Systems, Microsoft ExcelAbility to meet deadlinesSelf-MotivatorProcess OrientedExperience: 2 years plus years in a similar role.
