Job Title: Quality Assurance Engineer III (QA Automation)
Location: Tucson, AZ
About the Role
Our client is looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to join the Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) team. The AHS platform manages autonomous mining trucks using GPS, wireless communication, obstacle detection, and fleet management technologies.
You will work closely with software developers, product managers, hardware engineers, and operations teams to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of autonomous mining software.
Key Responsibilities
Understand the AHS system architecture and create test strategies.
Gather and review functional and non-functional requirements.
Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks.
Perform:
Functional Testing
Performance Testing
Security Testing
Failover/Recovery Testing
Develop API (REST/gRPC) and UI automation tests.
Support Shift-Left testing practices.
Perform manual exploratory testing when required.
Track QA metrics, defects, and test results.
Support deployments and field testing.
Mentor junior QA engineers and improve QA processes.
Travel internationally up to 10% if needed.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
6+ years of Software QA/Testing experience.
4+ years of Test Automation experience.
Experience creating end-to-end test strategies.
Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or C# .
Experience with:
REST API testing
gRPC testing
UI Automation
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
Experience leading QA initiatives and mentoring team members.
Preferred Skills
Full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience.
Experience with:
Microservices
Event-driven architecture
Distributed systems
Network programming and protocol knowledge.
Distributed application debugging.
Source control, code reviews, build processes, and release management.
Excellent communication with technical and business stakeholders.
