Job description
Quality Assurance Inspector, Deli Kitchen - LakelandResponsibilities include:Perform room checks and cooler checks to ensure GMP compliance, acceptable environmental conditions, and product qualityPerform quality assurance inspection tasks to include verification and tracking of correct product ingredients, labels, lot # and code date, net weights, etc.Help insure that each product is manufactured according to FDA and USDA regulations including, but not limited to maintaining cooking charts, yields, SSOP and HACCP recordsFollow all safety requirements and good manufacturing practicesVerify thermometers accuracyVerify cooking and chilling temperaturesCollect and package samples for testingPerform pre-op and maintenance inspections (as required)Provide help to all associates in the quality assurance department and throughout the KitchenUse the "Quality Assurance Production" Process to evaluate variances that arise to collect all the necessary information so the correct decision can be determineOverall, see that all products are manufactured under correct procedures from receiving of the raw materials to shipping of the finished productTaste and evaluate all product samples receivedBe cross trained in lab responsibilitiesBecome familiar with Deli Kitchen functionsUnderstand all Deli Kitchen processes and procedures and act upon discrepancies andOther duties as assigned.Required QualificationsMust be at least 18 years oldMust demonstrate excellent work habits in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)Must demonstrate safe working habitsMust be able to learn and perform all positionsMust be able to work in a fast-paced environmentMust have good human relations skills (the ability to work well with others and be a team player)Must be able to work any shift, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hoursHave working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, OutlookMust be able to work with USDA inspector in charge and other compliance officialsMust have excellent attendance and punctualityMust be willing to assist other team members in other areasMust be able to perform steady and productive work for an extended period of timeMust be able to work efficiently with little or no supervisionMust be able to follow detailed written and verbal instructionsMust possess basic math skillsMust be able to communicate effectivelyMust show enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work andA commitment to Publix and our mission.Hours of Work10:00 pm - 6:30 am; rotating daysWork EnvironmentTemperatures range from 35 to 85 degrees. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week's pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check.
