Role Overview
The Quality Assurance Manager leads internal and external audits, ensuring operational processes and quality standards are maintained, improved, and compliant with the site's Quality Management System. They promote a strong quality culture, support food safety, GMP standards, and continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Audit & Compliance: Lead audits, investigate findings, implement corrective actions, and prepare for certification inspections.
Quality Systems & Continuous Improvement: Maintain quality management systems, monitor GMP standards, and identify food safety risks.
Non-Conformance & Investigation: Investigate complaints and deviations, implement preventative measures, and track non-conformances.
Team Leadership: Manage and develop the Quality team, ensuring objectives are met.
Laboratory & Testing: Oversee testing of materials and products, ensuring compliance and accurate record-keeping.
Systems & Reporting: Generate quality reports, manage documentation, and control product statuses.
Equipment & Resources: Oversee calibration, maintenance, and manage laboratory supplies.
General: Collaborate across departments to support operational goals and perform additional duties as needed.
Person Specification
5+ years in food manufacturing, with senior QA or supervisory experience
Internal auditing qualification and Level 3 Food Safety & HACCP
Excellent communication, organization, and IT skills
Desirable: Degree in Food Science or related field, experience with retailer standards
