This role focuses on inspection support, data collection, documentation, and reporting, ensuring that quality issues are identified and escalated appropriately.Role OverviewThe Quality Control Analyst I supports Quality and Operations teams by executing defined quality control tasks, including inspections, measurements, testing support, and data entry. The role is developmental and builds foundational knowledge of quality standards, inspection techniques, and operational quality processes. This position typically reports to a Quality Supervisor, Quality Control Lead, Quality Engineer, or Quality Manager.Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Control & Inspection SupportPerform routine inspections of incoming, in-process, or finished productsVerify materials or products against specifications, drawings, or acceptance criteriaUse basic inspection tools and equipment as trainedData Collection & Quality RecordsCollect, record, and enter quality data accurately into tracking systemsMaintain inspection logs, checklists, and quality recordsEnsure records are complete, legible, and audit-readyNonconformance Identification & EscalationIdentify and document defects or deviations from specificationsEscalate nonconformances to Quality or Operations leadership as directedAssist with segregation and identification of nonconforming materialTesting & Measurement SupportSupport basic testing or measurement activitiesVerify calibration status of inspection equipment before useFollow standard test methods and work instructionsProcess Monitoring & ObservationMonitor basic process parameters or inspection checkpointsAlert supervisors to trends, recurring defects, or abnormal conditionsSupport visual management and quality control pointsCompliance & Procedure AdherenceFollow established quality control procedures and work instructionsComply with safety, housekeeping, and data-integrity requirementsSupport compliance with applicable quality standardsCross-Functional SupportWork with Manufacturing, Receiving, and Quality teams to support daily operationsRespond to routine inquiries regarding inspection status or resultsAssist with quality containment or re-inspection activities as neededLearning & DevelopmentLearn quality control methods, terminology, and inspection techniquesBuild familiarity with product specifications and quality criteriaParticipate in training and on-the-job development opportunitiesQualificationsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredCoursework or certificate in quality, manufacturing, or technical operations preferredEntry-level role; typically 0–1 years of experience in manufacturing, inspection, quality control, or operations support rolesKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to follow defined procedures and instructionsBasic math, measurement, and data-entry skillsAbility to read simple drawings, specifications, or checklistsBasic computer proficiency (data entry, spreadsheets, reporting tools)Clear written and verbal communication skillsDependability, professionalism, and willingness to learnEqual Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action at NidecNidec is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action Employer encouraging diversity in the workplace.
