Job description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Quality Control Dimensional Inspector to support a company focused on the manufacturing and development of fuel solutions for advanced nuclear and small modular reactor programs within the Department of Energy sector. This position is on-site in Oak Ridge, TN. The Quality Control Dimensional Inspector will perform dimensional inspections, develop and execute CMM inspection programs, and ensure compliance with quality standards for precision-manufactured components. Responsibilities for the Quality Control Dimensional Inspector include:
Perform dimensional inspections on tight-tolerance, high-value manufactured components
Program, set up, and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to verify product compliance
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements
Develop and maintain quality control plans and inspection documentation
Support manufacturing and quality assurance efforts throughout production and development processes
Required Qualifications for the Quality Control Dimensional Inspector include:
5+ years of experience in dimensional inspection and CMM programming
Hands-on experience with CMM operation, setup, and inspection methodologies
Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
Experience interpreting engineering drawings and inspecting precision components with tight tolerances
High school diploma, technical certification, or equivalent experience
Active Top Secret Clearance or DOE Q Clearance
Compensation for the Quality Control Dimensional Inspector includes:
Salary Range: $80,000 - $130,000 annually, depending on experience
