Job description
Quality Control Field TechnicianEmployee is responsible for testing asphalt, soil, concrete, and aggregates to ensure they meet required specifications.Requirements:Partners and coordinates daily/weekly scheduling with managementClear understanding of material procedures/productionBasic computer skills with word, outlook, and excelMust be self-motivatedMust partner with other members of staff reporting to Quality Control Manager to ensure specifications are met, as well as daily production schedules/estimatesKnowledge to ensure ethical behavior and safety standards as required by the company and OSHA guidelinesAbility to prepare and submit proper documentation to the appropriate Quality Control personnel and/or agencyMust understand how to evaluate test results and address problems when they ariseMathematical comprehensionAttitude/Cooperation: Must always maintain a courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers, and the general publicAbility to be flexible with last minute schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changesOvertime work requiredOut of town/county/state work may be requiredAbility to work outside for long periods of timeInitiative to perform/assist with other positions for job completionAbility to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE in functional conditionMust be able to lift and carry 50 lbsMust pass drug test and criminal checkRegular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the jobEducation/Experience:High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. WVDOH asphalt field certification preferred but not required (will train qualified applicants).
