Job description

Quality Control TechnicianMickey Truck Bodies is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to inspect truck and trailer bodies throughout the manufacturing process. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our products meet company standards, customer specifications, and safety regulations before shipment.Mickey Truck Bodies is a premier manufacturer of state-of-the-art bodies and trailers, and specially engineered vehicles sold in over 50 countries around the world. The innovative product line-up is prevalent in industries such as food & beverage, vending, propane, rental trucks, emergency & rescue, battery, oil & natural gas, and data storage. The company operates in 4 states.If you have manufacturing quality experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and take pride in catching issues before they become costly problems — we want to hear from you.What You'll DoPerform in-process and final inspections of truck and trailer bodiesVerify dimensions, weld quality, paint finish, component installation, and structural integrityRead and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work ordersUse precision measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, micrometers, machinist kits, gauges)Inspect welding operations and ensure weld quality meets standardsIdentify defects, non-conformances, and deviations from specificationsDocument inspection findings and maintain accurate quality recordsCommunicate quality concerns to supervisors and assist with corrective actionsSupport root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiativesAudit materials, parts, and finished productsPromote compliance with safety standards and PPE requirementsQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required2+ years of quality control experience in a manufacturing environment preferredExperience in truck, trailer, automotive, or heavy equipment manufacturing strongly preferredAbility to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawingsProficiency with precision measuring instrumentsStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsMechanical aptitude and working knowledge of welding inspectionBasic computer skills for documentation and reportingAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong communication and multi-tasking skillsWork EnvironmentManufacturing/shop environmentExposure to noise, metal dust, insulation materials, fumes, and moving machineryRequired use of PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators, gloves, and protective clothingRegular standing, walking, bending, and liftingPhysical RequirementsAbility to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standardsRegularly required to stand, walk, bend, reach, and use hands and arms.Must be able to communicate clearlyAbility to bend, reach, and work around machineryComfortable working in a noisy manufacturing environmentBenefitsBi-Weekly Productivity and Performance BonusPaid Vacation TimeMedical, Dental, Vision Insurance (employee cost share)Wellness Plan with IncentivesFlexible Spending Accounts (FSA)Company-Paid Short-Term and Long-Term Disability InsuranceCompany-Paid Basic Life Insurance with AD&D401(k) with Company MatchEqual Opportunity EmployerMickey Truck Bodies and Subsidiaries is an equal opportunity employer.
