Job description
Quality Control InspectorQuality Control Inspectors ensure the parts and components of aircraft and other aerospace equipment conform to design specifications and meet industry standards. A QC Inspector should have a general knowledge of the use of precision measuring devices and testing equipment to evaluate parts, instruments, and manufacturing processes using schematics, drawings, aircraft maintenance manuals, and/or but not limited to Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins.Inspectors will be required to perform In-Process Audits, In-Process Inspections, and Final Inspections of mechanical, electro-mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic parts, components, and subassemblies, including aircraft skin and structures.BenefitsGenerous Paid Time Off (PTO)Paid company holidays401(k) retirement plan with 5% company matchMedical, dental, and vision insuranceCompany-paid life insuranceShort- and long-term disability coverageOngoing training and professional development opportunitiesMinimum Requirements and QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalentMust hold a valid Airframe and Powerplant licenseMust have exceptional communication skills, written and verbalMust have a minimum of five (5) years heavy service experienceMust have a basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office and computer skillsMust have a basic knowledge of the FAA FARsMust have a basic knowledge of how to read and interpret Airworthiness Directives (AD) and Service Bulletins (SB)Must be able to read and interpret technical manuals, instructions, blueprints, and drawingsMust demonstrate the ability to use, with accuracy, all precision measuring tools and devicesPreferred Skills and ExperienceNon-Destructive Testing Experience (NDT) in UT, Dye Pen, and ETDocumented formal Composite TrainingConformity and First Article Inspection ExperienceCalibration Lab ExperienceAbility to work in confined and restrictive spacesUnderstand how to write and distribute FAA Forms such as 8130-3 and FAA Form 337Intermediate level skill with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)Intermediate level skill with Windows operating systemsMajor Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerforms technical inspections of aircraft, parts, systems, subsystems, and aircraft structurePerforms quality and safety inspections of on-site equipment and tooling for use on aircraftPerforms in-progress and final inspections during maintenance, repair, modification, and rework of aircraft, aircraft components, and parts, and assumes responsibility for that work as indicated by signatureInspects job progress, procedures, and maintenance forms used in performance of aircraft maintenance work to assure compliance with approved methods, data, procedures, and regulatory requirementsInspects all incoming parts to assure they carry approved documentation and certificationIdentifies and documents aircraft and aircraft parts discrepancies clearly and effectivelyMust successfully complete all training assigned by the Director of Training or Quality LeadershipAdditional DutiesPerform other duties as assigned by Quality Leadership necessary for the normal day-to-day operation, not determined at time of hirePhysical Requirements and Environmental ConditionsMust be able to sit, stand, bend, crouch, kneel, and walk for extended periodsMust be able to climb and work from ladders, work stands, and other heightsMust be able to work with one or both hands extended overheadMust have correctable 20/20 visionMust be able to hear at conversational levelMust be able to lift 25 poundsMust be able to handle and maintain control of small parts and to properly operate hand tools
