Job description

Job Title: Quality Control Manager

Location: Albany, GA

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 12 Months

Type: 1099 Contractor

Compensation

Rate: $54 - $58/HR

Per Diem: $125/PD

Pay Frequency: Weekly

Schedule

Hours: 40-50 Hours per Week

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Shift: 5x8s or 5x10s

Project Scope

The Quality Control Manager (QCM) will oversee all quality control activities for the construction of an Army Reserve Center in Albany, Georgia. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, applicable codes, and quality management standards throughout all phases of construction.

The selected candidate will coordinate inspections, monitor workmanship, review project documentation, and work closely with project management, subcontractors, and field personnel to maintain quality standards across multiple construction trades. The QCM will play a key role in identifying deficiencies, implementing corrective actions, and supporting successful project delivery while maintaining compliance with federal construction quality requirements.

Qualifications

Current CQCM Certification

10 years of demonstrable Quality Control Management experience on similar construction projects; or

Graduate Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of construction experience

Graduate Architect with a minimum of 5 years of construction experience

Graduate of Construction Management with a minimum of 5 years of construction experience

Experience overseeing quality control across multiple construction disciplines and trades

Additional Requirements

Ability to review and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents

Strong documentation, inspection, and reporting skills

Experience coordinating with project teams, subcontractors, and government representatives

Ability to identify quality issues and implement corrective actionsAbility to work full project schedule of 40-50 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

Manage and administer the project's quality control program

Conduct and coordinate preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections

Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and contract requirements

Maintain quality control documentation, reports, and inspection records

Coordinate with project management and subcontractors to resolve deficiencies

Monitor workmanship and construction activities across multiple trades

Track corrective actions through completion and verification

Participate in project meetings and quality-related discussions

Support successful project turnover and closeout activities

Knowledge Base

Strong understanding of construction quality management systems, federal construction requirements, inspection procedures, documentation controls, and multi-discipline construction activities. Knowledge of site civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and specialty trade work with the ability to enforce quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
