Bring your expertise to make an impact on our military defense and safety of our soldiers by discovering your new role supporting this critical mission.This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain your Secret clearance.Serco supports the US Army as a prime contractor for their Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) contract which supports integrating capabilities that enable the service to employ Command Posts (CP) across the operational spectrum. Our team develops, integrates, and maintains modern and mobile solutions for an integrated CP infrastructure. You will be part of a team that works closely with the customer and other Serco functional area teams to deliver quality systems and associated supporting documentation. The team has been recognized by the Army Customer and the industry for their outstanding contributions to the contract and program.In this role, you will supervise others as well as participate in the following:Visually inspects products according to specifications to ensure conformity to established standards, using a variety of measuring instruments, calipers, micrometers, and gaugesRecommend adjustments to production processes and procedures to improve quality and efficiencyAdhere to all processes and procedures per established Quality Management System.Complete basic electrical and mechanical testing of subsystem assemblies between manufacturing processes and integration to ensure the accuracy of final productsInspect platforms/vehicles to ensure equipment is ready for subsystem integrationAssist in developing and maintain accurate records of inspection results, test data, and quality control processes, reporting findings to managementReview inspection results for trend analysis and root cause analysis to propose corrective actionsCollaborate with subject matter expertsTo be successful in this role, you will have:An active Secret clearance.A HS Diploma/GED with 5 years of experience as a product quality control inspector2 years of experience being a Quality Control Supervisor and supporting military contractsExperience and/or training in: electronics, vehicle operation, electrical wiring, and product assembly.The ability to read engineering drawings and interconnection diagramsComfortable standing or walking for long periods of timeAbility to use measuring devices like gauges, meters, and calipers.Demonstrate technical proficiency.Problem-solving skillsEffective written and oral communication skillsThe ability to travel up to 75% of the time.Additional desired experience and skills:Understanding of an ISO 9001:2015 QMS systemAssociate's degree in engineering or technical discipline preferredPhysical ability to lift heavy objects.Familiar with Lean Six Sigma or process improvement conceptsIf you are interested in supporting and working with our military and sailors and a passionate Serco team- then submit your application now for immediate consideration.
