Quality Improvement Technician
Join our team as a Quality Improvement Technician, providing administrative, research and clerical support to help improve pharmacy services and processes. The Quality Improvement Technician will investigate pharmacy occurrence and discrepancy reports, document findings, support quality improvement initiatives, and collaborate with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to improve workflow and customer service.
Location: 962 South Dorset Road, Troy, OH 45373
Salary: $17+ depending on experience
Schedule: 8:30am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday. Weekends and holidays may be required based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities:
Receive and document pharmacy occurrence and discrepancy reports.
Conduct preliminary investigations and provide findings to the PIC and/or General Manager for follow-up and review.
Enter pharmacy occurrences into the Quality Improvement database.
Follow up with internal and external customers by phone or email to address questions, requests, and quality-related concerns.
Escalate issues that may adversely affect patient care to the PIC.
Ensure all communications and documentation are objective, factual, accurate, and complete.
Support the evaluation and continuous improvement of pharmacy services, policies, procedures, and workflow.
Collaborate with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to identify and improve workflow processes.
Assist with Order Entry, Call Center, and onboarding functions as needed.
Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect confidential patient information.
Complete required compliance training and follow all applicable company policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
Perform additional duties and participate in special projects or training as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Active pharmacy technician registration/license in good standing as required by state regulations.
Pharmacy technician experience in a long-term care or retail pharmacy environment preferred.
Experience with data entry, SIG codes, and alpha-numeric data entry required.
Quality Improvement experience preferred.
Basic understanding of medical terminology, drug knowledge, pharmacy processes, mathematics, and analytical skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.

Ability to investigate issues, identify information, solve problems, and know when to escalate concerns.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with pharmacists, technicians, and other team members.
Must be able to navigate pharmacy systems and databases, including Framework, DocuTrack, Paxit Manager, QI Database, INSIDE, and MyRemedi.
Ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods of time and perform data entry throughout the shift.
Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or move objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to customer service issues, emergency demands, regulatory requirements, and competing priorities.
