During a typical day, you'll:Perform dimensional, physical, and visual inspections of manufactured productsUse precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gaugesWork with automated inspection equipment, including CMMs, laser flatness testing equipment, and surface perthometersConduct ultrasonic and dye penetrant inspections when requiredComplete first article inspections before full-scale productionReview inspection results to determine whether products meet requirementsAccurately document inspection results and production data in SAP and related systemsCommunicate inspection results clearly when something doesn't meet specificationsComplete inspections on time to help keep production movingHelp move accepted products efficiently to the next work centerFollow established quality, safety, and environmental proceduresRequirementsYou Could Be a Great Fit If You:Have a high school diploma or equivalentHave working knowledge of GD&TCan interpret inspection data and explain results clearlyAre comfortable using precision measuring equipmentPay close attention to detailsCan follow technical specifications and established proceduresCommunicate effectively with production and quality team membersTake safety and product quality seriouslyCan use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointAre willing to learn new inspection methods and equipmentPrevious manufacturing or machining experience is preferred. If you've worked in machining, manufacturing, quality, inspection, or another precision-focused environment, you may already have skills that translate well to this role.Additional Tools In Your ToolboxExperience with any of these can help you succeed:Micrometers, calipers, and gaugesCoordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs)GD&TFirst article inspectionLaser flatness testingSurface-finish measurementUltrasonic inspectionDye penetrant inspectionSAP or another manufacturing/ERP systemMachining or precision manufacturingAn ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification is a plus.
