Job description
Quality Inspector – AerospaceWe are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our aerospace manufacturing team. In this role, you will perform in-process and final inspections of aerospace components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, customer requirements, and industry standards such as AS9100 and ISO 9001. The ideal candidate has strong inspection experience, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality and safety.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform first article, in-process, and final inspections on aerospace parts and assembliesInterpret and inspect to engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, and work instructionsUse precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and CMMsDocument inspection results and maintain accurate records in accordance with AS9100 requirementsInitiate nonconformance reports (NCRs) and support root-cause and corrective-action activitiesVerify supplier-provided materials and components against receiving requirementsEnsure product traceability and proper use of documentation and traveler packetsCollaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to identify and resolve issuesSupport continuous improvement efforts and maintain a culture of quality and complianceRequired QualificationsStrong proficiency with hands-on metrology tools and measuring equipmentAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T (ANSI Y14.5)Working knowledge of inspection documentation and non-conformance reportingStrong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and strong documentation skillsBasic computer skills (MS Office, ERP/MRP systems, or Quality software)Preferred Qualifications2+ years of quality inspection experience in aerospace, precision machining, or a related fieldFamiliarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, and general aerospace quality processesExperience with CMM programming or operation (PC-DMIS, Zeiss, or similar)Experience with first article inspection (FAI) and AS9102 documentationKnowledge of aerospace materials and manufacturing processesAS9100 / ISO 9001 and/or Internal Audit experienceGage and Tool Calibration experiencePhysical & Work RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 lbsComfortable working in a manufacturing environmentAbility to use small precision tools and machines safely
