Quality Inspector – Fresh ProducePay: $18.00/hour Schedule: 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM Days: Monday – Saturday (Sundays and one day off a week)Job SummaryWe are hiring a Quality Inspector to help ensure fresh vegetables and produce meet established quality, food safety, customer, and regulatory standards.This position will inspect incoming produce shipments, monitor product quality throughout inventory, perform outbound inspections, and maintain accurate quality control records. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced refrigerated warehouse environment.ResponsibilitiesInspect incoming shipments of fresh vegetables and produce for quality, condition, and freshnessPerform quality inspections on outbound shipments before products leave the facilityInspect finished products and packaging to ensure they meet established quality standardsEvaluate inventory and categorize products based on quality, condition, and usabilityIdentify damaged, distressed, spoiled, or non-conforming productComplete accurate quality control inspection reports and documentationCommunicate quality concerns to supervisors and appropriate internal departmentsAssist with decisions regarding damaged, questionable, or non-conforming productPlace products on hold or quarantine when necessary and release products when approvedConduct outgoing quality checks and review inspections completed by shipping personnelMaintain accurate inspection records and quality documentationFollow all GMP, food safety, health and safety, and company proceduresMaintain confidentiality of company and personnel informationPerform other quality control duties as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required1+ year of quality inspection, produce inspection, food quality, or related experience preferredExperience in produce, food distribution, agriculture, or refrigerated warehouse operations is a plusKnowledge of GMP and food safety principlesBasic understanding of fresh fruit and vegetable quality standards preferredBasic computer skillsStrong attention to detail and accuracyGood organizational and time-management skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to identify and clearly communicate quality issuesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamComfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environmentMust be flexible to work Monday through SaturdayWorking ConditionsWork in a refrigerated warehouse environment, generally 45–55°FWarehouse environment may include noise from packaging equipment and forklift trafficFrequent standing and walking throughout the facilityRegular bending, twisting, reaching, and handling of products and packagingAbility to regularly lift up to 30 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.Must have sufficient vision and attention to detail to inspect produce, packaging, and product condition
