Job description

Quality Inspector Precision, Ownership & GrowthJoin a modern, climatecontrolled sheet metal manufacturing facility where quality truly drives the operation. As a Quality Inspector, you’ll perform handson, inprocess inspections directly on the production floor, ensuring every part meets strict customer, blueprint, and ISO/AS standards. You’ll work with advanced measurement tools, collaborate closely with production teams, and help elevate the organizations quality performance.This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fastpaced environment, enjoys mechanical inspection work, and wants to be part of a company investing heavily in new equipment, training, and continuous improvement.What You’ll DoPerform inprocess inspections on the production floor to verify parts meet all quality and customer specificationsInterpret blueprints and technical drawings with accuracy to determine critical dimensions and featuresVerify tolerances by inspecting each part against blueprint requirementsRecord measurement data on quality documents and datacollection sheetsUse precision inspection tools including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, pin/thread gauges, gauge blocks, comparators, CMMs, VMMs, and vision systemsConduct visual inspections to identify defects, nonconformances, and potential quality risksCollaborate with production teams to maintain part accuracy throughout the runFollow ISO and AS standards and adhere to established quality proceduresIdentify process improvements and act as a forwardthinking change agentSupport quality initiatives that strengthen overall organizational performanceStop production when necessary and escalate issues to protect product qualityCommunicate clearly with production and quality leadershipEnsure documentation accuracy for internal and external complianceEssential Skills & ExperienceProven inprocess inspection experience in a production environmentStrong blueprint reading skills including GD&T interpretationProficiency with precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, and gaugesExperience with CMMs and vision systems including VMM, Keyence, and VirtekMechanical inspection experience in sheet metal or metal stampingUnderstanding of ISO/AS standards such as ISO 9001 or AS91002-3 years in metal fabrication or related workHigh attention to detail and accuracy in measurementStrong communication skills for constant interaction with production teamsAbility to stay on feet and move between stations throughout the dayAdditional QualificationsSheet metal or stamping experienceFamiliarity with busy productionfloor workflowsExposure to press brakes, punch presses, lasers, CNCs from a quality perspectiveContinuous improvement mindsetComfort in loud manufacturing environmentsCrossdepartment collaboration including quality and toolmaking teamsWhy You’ll Love Working HereClimatecontrolled, organized facility designed for comfort and productivityModern equipment and ongoing investments in new machinery and department remodelsErgonomic improvements including upgraded seating and floor matsMonthly production bonuses available after transitioning to permanent statusFlexible 4.5day work week supporting worklife balanceLongterm stability backed by continuous improvement and modernizationJob Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Paul, MN.Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $29.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
