And when we watch our satellites launch, we know each one of us made it happen.We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Inspector to join our dynamic team in El Segundo, California.Position Responsibilities:Initiates corrective actions with our manufacturing, ATLO, and engineering teamsMaintains systems that will assure the quality and traceability of the incoming materials and final productsInterfaces and/or works closely with design and manufacturing engineering, manufacturing, materials, procurement, and shipping personnel on procedural issues involving design, methods, tooling, cost, and other areas involved in the control of product qualityMonitors all manufacturing processes through audits and daily evaluations, to ensure that assembly & test operations being performed in accordance with approved specifications and standardsDocuments discrepancies as they occur during manufacturing & test operationsIndependently perform verifications and document results in a clear, precise, and complete mannerSupports in other inspection areas defined by Millennium Space Systems leadership as business needs requireDevelops, implements, and audits inspection and test plans, acceptance criteria, and in-process work instructionsFacilitates root cause analysis and resolution with manufacturing/production area DR'sAssists in conducting annual audits and systems surveysMakes recommendations to company leadership on the implementation of process improvements on assigned program(s) or product areasDemonstrates working knowledge and interfaces of MES systems (JIRA, Costpoint, etc.)This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.Shift:This position is primarily 2nd shift; however, there may be additional shift requirements to support program objectives. Candidates must be able to work any shift assigned.Union:This is an hourly union-represented position governed by the Cabinet Makers, Millmen and Industrial Carpenters Union (CMM&IC Local 721).New hires and employees transferring from non-union roles may be required to attend or complete training within their 90-day probationary period. Continued employment is contingent on successfully completing the probationary period.Security Clearance:This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post Start is required.)Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Minimum of high school diploma or GEDMore than 3 years of experience performing quality inspectionsMore than 3 years of experience working with quality assurance specifications and requirementsMore than 3 years of experience documenting corrective actions and non-conformanceMore than 3 years of experience in working with blueprints, specifications, assembly drawings, and standard operating proceduresMore than 1 year of experience reading and interpreting aerospace engineering drawings and blueprintsMore than 3 years of experience in setting and using precision measuring tools and equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and/or dial indicatorsCapable of lifting 20lbs or more on a frequent basisPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):More than 3 years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or assembly processes and proceduresMore than 3 years of experience working with ESD, IPC J-STD-001, and IPC-A-610 standardsExperience working with AS9100 and/or similar QMS standardHeld an IPC quality certificationConflict of Interest:Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the company's conflict of interest (COI) assessment process.Relocation:Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
