Quality Inspector (CMM Programming Aerospace & Defense)This role focuses on performing precision quality inspection and CMM programming for aerospace and defense components, ensuring products meet strict engineering specifications and industry standards.ResponsibilitiesProgram and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to inspect aerospace and defense components according to engineering drawings and specifications.Perform detailed quality inspections using CMM equipment to verify dimensions, tolerances, and geometric features.Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine inspection requirements and measurement strategies.Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to evaluate part conformance and identify deviations.Use hand measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers to perform dimensional checks and verify CMM results.Document inspection results accurately and clearly, maintaining records in accordance with quality procedures.Identify nonconforming parts and communicate findings to appropriate personnel for review and corrective action.Follow established quality control processes and contribute to continuous improvement of inspection methods.Ensure inspection equipment is used correctly and report any issues with CMM or measurement tools to supervision.Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality concerns and support on-time delivery of products.Essential SkillsHands-on experience with CMM operation and programming in a manufacturing environment.Proficiency in quality inspection of mechanical components, preferably in aerospace and defense applications.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.Strong understanding and practical application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).Skilled use of precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.Attention to detail and accuracy in performing measurements and documenting inspection results.Ability to follow established quality procedures and inspection standards.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify and communicate quality issues.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience inspecting aerospace components or working within aerospace and defense quality standards.Familiarity with manufacturing processes in a production environment.Comfort working with both automated CMM systems and manual inspection tools.Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with production and engineering teams.Organizational skills to manage multiple inspection tasks and maintain accurate records.Why Work Here?You will join a production environment where quality and precision are highly valued, and your expertise in inspection and measurement directly supports safety and reliability.
