Quality Technician/CMM ProgrammerBeehive Industries is dedicated to Powering American Defense by revolutionizing the design, development, and delivery of jet propulsion systems to support the warfighter. Through the integration of additive manufacturing, the company aims to meet the growing and urgent needs for unmanned aerial defense by dramatically improving a jet engine's speed to market, fuel efficiency, and cost.Founded in 2020, the company is headquartered in Centennial, Colorado, with additional facilities in Knoxville, Tennessee, Loveland Ohio, and Mount Vernon, Ohio. This role will be located at our Centennial, Colorado facility.Role OverviewThe Quality Technician/CMM Programmer performs advanced dimensional inspection activities and develops Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programs to ensure manufactured components meet engineering, customer, and regulatory requirements. This role combines hands-on quality inspection with technical expertise in CMM programming, GD&T, CAD-based inspection, and advanced metrology.The CMM Programmer/Quality Technician translates engineering drawings, CAD models, specifications, and GD&T requirements into effective and repeatable inspection methods and CMM programs. This position serves as a technical resource for CMM programming and dimensional inspection while partnering closely with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering to identify dimensional issues, support root cause investigations, improve inspection processes, and ensure consistent product conformity.What You'll Do...Develop, program, validate, maintain, and execute CMM inspection programs using PC-DMIS softwareTranslate engineering drawings, CAD models, specifications, and GD&T requirements into effective inspection strategies and CMM programsDetermine appropriate measurement methods, datum structures, probing strategies, fixturing, alignments, and inspection sequencingPerform advanced dimensional and visual inspections using CMMs, manual measurement equipment, scanners, and other automated metrology technologiesOptimize CMM programs for accuracy, repeatability, efficiency, and inspection cycle timeValidate new and revised CMM programs prior to production use and update programs as engineering requirements changeTroubleshoot CMM programming, probing, fixturing, measurement, and inspection issuesAnalyze CMM and inspection data to identify dimensional variation, trends, and potential manufacturing issuesInterpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T requirements, and CAD models to determine product conformitySupport First Article Inspection (FAI), production inspection, in-process inspection, and final inspection activitiesDevelop and maintain inspection methods, inspection plans, CMM program documentation, work instructions, and standardized workPartner with Manufacturing and Engineering to investigate dimensional nonconformances and support root cause and corrective action activitiesProvide dimensional data and technical inspection support for nonconformance investigationsSupport new product introduction, process development, engineering changes, and production ramp-up activitiesReview engineering changes and determine impacts to existing CMM programs, inspection methods, and measurement strategiesIdentify opportunities to improve inspection capability, automation, equipment utilization, measurement efficiency, and overall quality performanceCreate, review, and maintain Customer Data Packets, Certificates of Conformance (CoC), inspection records, calibration records, and other QMS documentationIdentify, document, and support the disposition of nonconforming material through approved quality systemsSupport internal and external audits by providing inspection records, CMM program documentation, and evidence of compliance with AS9100 and company proceduresEstablish and maintain best practices for CMM programming, dimensional inspection, and advanced metrologyMentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced Quality Technicians on CMM programming, GD&T, metrology equipment, and inspection methodsUtilize Microsoft Office applications and quality systems to maintain accurate inspection and quality recordsFollow all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, PPE requirements, and hazard reporting expectationsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe inspection work environmentPerform other duties as assignedYou have...EducationHigh school diploma, GED, or equivalent experienceExperienceFour (4) or more years of experience in quality inspection, dimensional inspection, metrology, or precision manufacturingThree (3) or more years of hands-on experience programming and operating CMMsDemonstrated hands-on experience developing, editing, validating, and maintaining CMM programs using PC-DMIS softwareExperience programming CMMs using CAD models and engineering drawings, including the translation of GD&T requirements into PC-DMIS inspection programsExperience interpreting GD&T and applying dimensional and geometric requirements to inspection programsExperience developing inspection methods for complex, high-tolerance componentsExperience working in an AS9100, ISO 9001, or similarly regulated manufacturing environmentSkills & CompetenciesAdvanced knowledge of CMM programming, dimensional metrology, and inspection techniquesAdvanced ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, GD&T, datums, tolerances, and geometric requirementsProficiency with PC-DMIS CMM programming software, including program development, editing, debugging, validation, and optimizationStrong understanding of CMM probe qualification, probing strategies, fixturing, alignments, coordinate systems, and measurement techniquesAbility to translate engineering requirements and CAD models into efficient, accurate, and repeatable inspection programsAbility to troubleshoot and optimize CMM programs and inspection methodsAbility to analyze CMM and inspection results and use dimensional data to identify process variation and manufacturing issuesStrong understanding of metrology equipment calibration and measurement system requirementsAbility to independently develop inspection strategies for new and existing productsStrong analytical, technical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsProficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointAbility to work independently and serve as a technical resource for CMM programming and dimensional inspectionDemonstrated commitment to continuous
