Position SummaryThe Quality Technician is responsible for performing inspection and testing activities to ensure materials and products meet engineering specifications and quality standards. This role supports manufacturing operations through inspection, data collection, and documentation of nonconformances while maintaining accurate quality records.Essential ResponsibilitiesEssential Position ResponsibilitiesPerform incoming inspection of materials, components, and sub-assemblies from external suppliers in accordance with BIW drawings, specifications, and quality control plansConduct in-process and final inspections of parts and assemblies produced by BIW OperationsMaintain and update quality data within SAP ERP, QA test databases, and other applicable systemsDocument product and process nonconformances using SAP Quality NotificationsEnsure all inspection records and documentation are accurate, complete, and legible in accordance with established standardsPosition RequirementsPosition Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical diploma preferred1–2 years of hands-on experience in inspection and testing, or equivalent technical trainingAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including GD&TProficient in basic mathematics (arithmetic, geometry, and trigonometry)Strong written and verbal communication skillsEffective interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environmentAbility to manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervisionStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and WordExperience auditing work orders, test data, and material certifications preferredU.S. Citizenship requiredInspection & Measurement SkillsHands-on experience using precision inspection and measurement tools, including:CalipersMicrometersPin gaugesBore gaugesHeight gaugesAbility to perform accurate dimensional inspections and verify product conformance to engineering drawings and specificationsExperience recording, interpreting, and documenting measurement data as part of quality inspection processesAbility to interpret measurement results, including CMM data where applicableAbility to perform basic electrical testing using volt-ohm meters and high-potential (hipot) testing equipmentWork Environment & Physical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periods throughout the workdayFrequent bending, lifting, reaching, and squattingAbility to lift to 30 lbs. on a regular basisEqual Pay Act StatementWe aim to pay our 'ITT'ers' fairly and competitively in the locations that they live and work.
