Job description
Quality Technician 2nd ShiftThe Quality Technician position reports to the Quality Manager and assists in the inspection and verification of product. The Quality Technician is tasked with identifying quality issues at different levels of manufacture throughout the organization and will assist Production and Operations by performing Inspection and documenting results of Materials and Components. This role is a leader for colleagues in demonstrating our commitment to prevention versus detection at R&L Spring Company.Duties/Responsibilities:Performs First Piece Inspection and Final InspectionCharting or In-process InspectionsOptical / Visual InspectionsSet up and operate testing equipmentPerform calculations and math functionsAccurate reporting and recording of data and information.Perform work in a timely manner to meet quality expectations, while adhering to delivery requirementsEnsure compliance with the "Control of Non-Conforming Material" processFlexibility to work in a changing environmentUnderstand Inspection Frequencies and Sampling Plans.Follow R&L workmanship and quality standardsMaintain a clean and organized work area.Abides by all R&L policies and procedures as stated in the Employee HandbookAbides by all R&L safety standards and requirementsAlerts the supervisor when nonconformance's are foundResponsible for understanding and following IATF 16949 standards and continuous improvements as it relates to this position.Required Skills/Abilities:Must be able to read and follow written work instructionsLearn to use inspection tools and test equipmentEducation and Experience:High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience.Basic mechanical aptitudeBasic tool knowledgePreferred manufacturing experienceReading and understanding of customer blueprintsPhysical Requirements:Required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands regularly.Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, and crouch.The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
