Job description
Quality Control / Quality Assurance TechnicianWe are looking for an experienced Quality Control / Quality Assurance Technician to support quality activities throughout the manufacturing and construction process. This position will be responsible for material inspection, documentation, traceability, subcontractor quality, and ensuring work meets contract specifications and quality standards.Responsibilities:Check wet and dry mil thicknessMaintain material traceability throughout the projectReview contract drawings and keep revisions up to datePrepare and submit QC documentation and reportsCreate welder, X-ray, and heat number mapsPrepare turnover packagesMonitor subcontractors for compliance with quality standardsSupervise repairs and rework completed by subcontractorsInspect incoming materials against purchase orders and bills of material for proper size, quantity, type, and gradeReview test reports and/or Certificates of Conformance (C of C) to verify material heat numbersInspect materials for damage and properly document discrepanciesMark and segregate materials by contract and identify non-conforming materialVerify parts are cut from the proper material and to the specified dimensionsEnsure proper contract numbers and piece marks are applied to all partsMaintain accurate heat number and material traceabilityReview fit-ups against drawings or shop sketches before weldingAssist with developing quality plans, quality manuals, and related QMS documentationComplete required QA/QC and quality training documentationConduct required quality plan activities and maintain project quality systemsAssist with QA/QC activities through substantial completion and project closeoutAssist with final testing and commissioning as requiredCoordinate with QA/QC Managers, Project Managers, and other team members throughout engineering, procurement, and constructionPerform other duties as assignedQualifications:Previous experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or manufacturing inspectionStrong understanding of material traceability and quality documentationAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and shop sketchesKnowledge of welding, materials, and fabrication processesStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to identify and document non-conforming materials or workStrong communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExperience with QMS documentation and quality plans is preferredEqual Opportunity StatementExpress Employment Professionals is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
