Job description
Insight Global is looking for an R&D embedded software engineer for a large agriculture client. This individual will be responsible for software development for any custom machines. Maintain current software and create new features for machines. UI is .NET C# and controller is PLC. Machines use Epson robots. Architect, develop, and maintain desktop and embedded .NET applications that interface directly with industrial hardware, cameras, sensors, conveyors, actuators, and robotic systems. Write and maintain PLC programs in Structured Text (IEC 61131-3), preferably on Beckhoff TwinCAT platforms. Program, configure, and troubleshoot Epson RC+ robot controllers; integrate robotic pick-and-place or handling routines into broader automation workflows. Implement and debug industrial protocols including MQTT, MODBUS (RTU/TCP), EtherCAT, and other fieldbus/Ethernet-based standards. This individual will be compensated at an hourly rate starting at $50/HR.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
C# .NET for industrial automation - 5 years
- Hardware experience, connecting sensors to machines PLC programming, Structured Text (IEC61131-3) - 5 years
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Epson robotics (RC+) - 3 years Experience with any of the following languages: Python, C++, C - 3 years
