We are supporting the world leader in thermal interface materials which keep electronics cool, along with inductive components preserving signal integrity.Position DetailsTitle: R&D Laboratory AssociatePosition Type: 1 year contract with additional opportunity contingent upon performance and continued business needJob Location: Midland, MIShift: 1st ShiftBenefits: 401K, Dental insurance, Life Insurance, Medical Insurance, Vision Insurance, PTOCompensation: $33/HRResponsibilitiesThe R&D Associate will support research and development activities involving material characterization, testing, sample preparation, and laboratory operations.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate benchtop test equipment to characterize a variety of material properties and conduct reliability testing.Learn and become proficient in a wide range of laboratory tests, processes, and procedures.Complete assigned work accurately and in a timely manner.Apply scientific reasoning to solve basic problems.Use hand tools for sample preparation and projects involving hardware modification or fabrication.Collect, organize, and compile data from laboratory testing.Collaborate with cross-functional team members.Maintain the laboratory, including proper sample labeling, organization, and waste disposal.Maintain, verify, and calibrate designated laboratory equipment.Identify opportunities to improve testing techniques, hardware, or software.QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related discipline preferred.Experience with data acquisition and data management.Ability to troubleshoot characterization and application equipment.Ability to identify opportunities for improvement in testing techniques, hardware, or software.Background in silicones and related testing methodologies is beneficial.Strong time management and organizational skills.Motivated to learn and apply new technical skills.Strong scientific and analytical skills.Fluency in English.On-Board was founded in 1976 by Robert L.
