Overview
Riceland Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Radiation Oncologist to join our multidisciplinary cancer care team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient-centered care, demonstrate clinical excellence, and collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and support staff to deliver advanced radiation therapy treatments.
Responsibilities
Evaluate and diagnose patients requiring radiation therapy.
Develop individualized radiation treatment plans in collaboration with medical physicists and dosimetrists.
Oversee and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
Conduct regular patient follow-ups to assess treatment progress and manage side effects.
Collaborate with surgeons, medical oncologists, radiologists, and other specialists to ensure coordinated, comprehensive care.
Participate in tumor board meetings and case discussions.
Ensure strict compliance with safety protocols, regulatory standards, and quality assurance procedures.
Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans, expectations, and post-treatment care.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation within the EMR system.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the oncology department.
Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Radiation Oncology.
Valid and unrestricted medical license (or eligibility) in the state of Texas.
Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and commitment to patient care.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Experience with advanced radiation systems and treatment modalities preferred.
