Job description
Radiation Therapist
As a Radiation Therapist at Henry Ford Health, you will have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technology in Radiation Oncology at the Brownstown location. General Summary: Under general supervision administers radiation treatments to patients, as prescribed by the physician, utilizing specialized equipment including
Linear accelerator
High Dose Rate (HDR) After loader
Computed Tomography
Education/Experience Required:
Bachelor's Degree preferred
Certifications/Licensures Required:
A.R.R.T. Radiation Therapy Technology Certification or registry eligible
Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards and behaviors as outlined in the HFHS' Customer Service Policy
Working Conditions:
Normal office environment with minimal exposure to noise, dust, or extreme temperatures.
Lifting of patients, moving & pushing wheelchairs / stretchers and lifting of equipment, above head, up to 50lbs.
Potential exposure to radiation; however, adherence to safety procedures minimizes likelihood of danger.
Frequent interaction with emotionally depressed and terminally/critically ill patients.
