nJob Title: Radiation Therapist

nPosition Purpose:
nAdministers ionizing radiation therapy to patients in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist. Collaborates with the physicist, dosimetrist, chief therapist, and Radiation Oncologist in the planning and simulation of treatments.
nSupports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital.
nAs a Radiation Therapist you will:
nnnApply ionizing radiation to patients according to physician prescription, noting any changes to prescription during course of Rx.
n
nnReview and maintain daily treatment records for accuracy and completeness.
n
nnAssesses patient condition from medical documentation and observe patients for unusual reaction resulting from treatment.
n
nnExplain treatment procedures to patients in a sensitive manner.
n
nnParticipate in simulation and mold room procedures.
n
nnSolve problems that arise with routine set-ups.
n
nnSchedule patient appointments.
n
nnUnderstand dosimetry procedures and perform basic treatment time calculations.
n
nnPrepare room and equipment for patients according to prescriptions regarding immobilization devices and treatment parameters.

n nMinimum Qualifications:
nnnHigh school diploma and completion of American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (A.R.R.T.) approved Radiological Technology Program. Bachelor's preferred.
n
nnARRT certification.
n
nnCurrent licensure by the state of Maryland to practice radiation therapy.
n
nnAt least one year of experience as a therapist in a radiation oncology facility is preferred.
n
nnExperience using linear accelerators with multi-leaf columnators, CT simulators, and HDR therapy is preferred.

n nPay Range: $ . Pay is based on experience, skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
