Job description

Position Summary

Performs routine imaging examinations in Diagnostic Radiology on a scheduled and emergency basis following departmental QC/Exam Data Integrity Workflow Expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

* Reviews and evaluates requisitions for Diagnostic imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and clinical signs for routine examinations.

* Identify patients according to Hospital Policy with 2 identifiers.

* Selects appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.

* Assesses patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develop a care plan for that patients' specific needs.

* Explain the examination and is able to answer questions from patient and parents regarding the exam and Radiation exposure, practices ALARA.

* Follows Departmental QC/Data Integrity Workflow.

* Practices High Reliability Training.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

* An Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology is required. Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience:

* Training in Diagnostic Radiology

License/Certifications:

* MA Radiographer license and ARRT certification is required.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
