Job description
Radiology Transport
In a customer service-oriented manner, interviews patients and/or their representative to collect required registration data, including but not limited to demographic and financial data, as well as obtain required signatures, communicates mandated patient information, and verifies all information for accuracy. Process includes but is not limited to insurance verification, obtaining precertification/authorization, co-payment collection, and communicating with the patient and/or their representative with regard to their financial assistance needs.
Prepares and positions patients for examination, treatment, and procedures following established procedures. Replenishes and prepares exam and treatment rooms with medical supplies, equipment, and linen, maintaining a neat, clean, and appropriately stocked environment. Transports patients as needed following established procedures. Answers telephone promptly and courteously, responding to customer inquiries and providing routine information. Provides the RN and/or Physician with accurate and timely information regarding patient needs and status and documents information in appropriate records, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Education/Training: High School graduate or equivalent with six months of clinical experience in a radiography program or demonstrated equivalent competency preferred. Experience/Skills/Abilities: Successful completion of annual clinical, age, and job-specific competencies and skill verification tools required. Safe Patient Handling Training, Computer experience, and typing skills preferred. Good customer service skills required. Strong telephone etiquette skills and ability to clearly and calmly communicate in English with patients, medical staff, and the public.
Heavy - Clinical - Heavy clinical roles require continual lifting of more than 50 lbs., pushing and pulling patients or equipment, and working in physically awkward or restrictive positions. Staff must maintain balance and coordination in confined, uneven, or emergent care settings while performing both fine and gross motor tasks. High sensory acuity is needed to recognize patient cues and environmental alerts. Emotional and cognitive demands are significant due to urgent decision-making, managing distressed patients, and functioning effectively in high-pressure clinical situations. Environmental exposures commonly include infectious agents, biohazards, noise, and chemicals. Employees may be required to complete mask-fit testing, TB screening, and participate in extended or on-call shifts.
$17.10 - $18.90 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
