Job description
Rebar Fabrication OperatorAbility to lift, carry, and position rebar weighing up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout a shift; occasional team lifts up to 100 lbs. QCing materials metal fabrication experience or material operation experience concrete work. Prior forklift operating experience; certification will be completed internally. Prior experience in rebar fabrication, ironworking, or a related metalworking trade.The Rebar Fabrication Operator supports the Reinforcement Operations team by bending and cutting rebar components used as structural reinforcement in 3D-printed construction elements. This role demands accuracy, physical stamina, and a strong quality mindset.Key ResponsibilitiesFabrication: Bend rebar to specified angles and radii using manual and/or machine bending equipment, following approved drawings and shop tickets.Cut straight rebar bars to precise lengths using shear cutters or saws; verify each cut against the specified dimension before releasing material.Quality Control: Inspect each bent piece for dimensional conformance (angle, radius, leg lengths) using tape measures, angle gauges, and templates.Verify cut bars for straightness and length accuracy; reject and re-cut any pieces outside tolerance before they enter a bundle.Bundling & Labeling: Count out the correct quantity of pieces per bundle per the work order; double-count each bundle before securing.Apply accurate, legible labels to each bundle including part number, bar size, length/bend designation, quantity, and date; verify label data matches the work order.Material Handling & Housekeeping: Move rebar stock and finished bundles using proper lifting techniques, hand trucks, or forklift.Keep the work area clean and organized; dispose of cut-off scrap according to site procedures.
