ReceptionistThe Receptionist provides high-level administrative and front desk support by greeting visitors, managing incoming calls, handling packages, and performing a wide range of clerical and administrative tasks. This full-time role runs from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and may have the potential to become a permanent position for the right individual.ResponsibilitiesGreet and warmly welcome visitors upon arrival and direct them to the appropriate person or area.Provide accurate information to visitors and callers, answering questions and addressing inquiries in a professional manner.Answer and route incoming calls using the telephone system or console switchboard.Receive, log, and send packages via couriers, ensuring proper handling and timely delivery.Maintain a detailed visitor log and call records to support security and front desk operations.Issue and track security passes or badges for visitors and ensure proper procedures are followed.Perform general clerical tasks including typing, filing, photocopying, and binding documents and books.Prepare and assemble mailers and other materials for distribution as needed.Maintain the boardroom schedule, including booking and coordinating meetings.Ensure boardroom equipment is available, functioning properly, and ready for use.Provide additional administrative support to the office team as required, adapting to changing priorities and tasks.Essential SkillsStrong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with visitors, callers, and internal staff.Demonstrated customer service skills with a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.Effective multi-tasking abilities to handle calls, visitors, and administrative tasks simultaneously.Solid interpersonal skills to build positive relationships and work collaboratively with others.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing ones time efficiently.Ability to keep information organized and maintain confidentiality of sensitive data.Previous experience using computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.High school diploma or equivalent.02 years of experience in customer service, front desk, administrative support, or clerical roles.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in front desk or receptionist roles, including greeting visitors and managing a switchboard.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, for document creation and data entry.Strong organizational skills to manage visitor logs, schedules, and records accurately.Attention to detail when handling packages, preparing mailers, and maintaining documentation.Ability to adapt to changing priorities and provide flexible support across different administrative tasks.Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a professional office environment with standard business hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The role involves working at a front desk or reception area, using office equipment such as telephones, console switchboards, computers, printers, copiers, and binding machines. The Receptionist interacts frequently with visitors, couriers, and internal staff, maintaining a calm and courteous demeanor in a busy setting. The atmosphere is focused on providing excellent customer service and efficient administrative support, with opportunities to take on a variety of tasks and responsibilities. Professional attire is expected to reflect the front-facing nature of the role.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of California, MD.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $10.00 - $10.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
